The Weaving Sheds

The Weaving Sheds were once the beating heart of Kidderminster’s textile industry, home to the looms and workers behind the town’s world-famous carpets.

By Spring 2025, The Weaving Sheds building will be transformed into a dynamic community space for events, workshops, and creative activities.

Our task was to develop a brand identity that honoured this rich heritage while positioning The Weaving Sheds as a modern, forward-thinking hub. The branding also needed to visually connect with other key sites in the regeneration project – The Old Court and The Piano Building – while maintaining its own distinct identity.

The final design draws inspiration from the looms and weaving process, integrating subtle references within the typeface and brand marks. This ensures a strong connection to the building’s past while reinforcing a sense of creativity and innovation.

A bold shade of orange, shared with The Old Court and The Piano Building, visually links the three sites while allowing The Weaving Sheds to stand out with its own unique character.

The logo and brand mark were designed for versatility, working seamlessly across signage, décor, social media, and printed materials. This flexibility ensures a consistent and engaging visual identity, whether displayed in large-scale format or digital applications. The brand’s energy and vibrancy reflect the building’s new purpose – bringing people together for creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.

The result is a striking, contemporary brand that breathes new life into this historic space. By balancing heritage with modern design, the identity repositions The Weaving Sheds as an inspiring and accessible venue, strengthening its role within Kidderminster’s regeneration and ensuring its legacy continues for future generations.
